NY Giants Lawrence Taylor Pay Stubs from 1983

LT was the #2 overall pick in 1981 by the New York Giants. The linebacker out of North Carolina sought a 750k contract over 3 years and his potential teammates talked about walking out if the rookie got that much.

Taylor held out of training camp in the summer of 1983 for three weeks. The holdout ended when LT came back to the team, reportedly under his old contract, with three games remaining in the preseason. The Giants eventually gave Taylor a new six-year $6.2-million-dollar contract for 1984.

The fines? Probably for not weight lifting. LT was fined regularly for not working out, well, regularly.

18 bucks per ticket for Giants - Dallas. Ah, the days.....
