Jayson Williams Pulls a Tiger Woods - Hits Tree, Fractures Neck

Former New Jersey Nets 6-foot-10, 325-pound forward Jayson Williams' black Mercedes SUV hit a tree at high speed after exiting the FDR Drive in Manhattan around 3:15 a.m. today - a police spokeswoman told CNN. And why was the entire Tiger Woods accident not a joke? Jayson has a fractured neck.

Witnesses told cops they say Williams move from the driver's seat to the passenger seat after the crash. JW is awaiting retrial on manslaughter charges related to the shooting death of his limousine driver in 2002. Williams’ attorneys asked to be removed from the reckless manslaughter case in Somerville Superior Court last month because Williams had not been communicating with them. (Williams has a history of depression and drug/alcohol abuse.)

The (NYPD) reported on April 27, 2009, that Williams was tasered in a New York City hotel by members of the force after reports that Williams had become suicidal and violent. Police said that Williams was visibly intoxicated in his hotel room and that empty bottles of prescription medications were found around the room. Cops tasered him and took him to the hospital.
