The Detroit Pride (photo via Facebook) are the Detroit Lions' new, unofficial cheerleaders. They bill themselves as follows:
The Detroit Pride Cheerleadering team is a professional cheer/dance squad that will be cheering for Detroit sports teams debuting September 19, 2010 at the Detroit Lions home game against the Philadelphia Eagles! We will be outside the stadium prior to every Lions game and you can catch us at tailgate parties throughout the downtown area. If you have tickets to the game...come find us and feel free to get your picture taken! Will be performing at the Eastern Market lot tailgate at 10:45am and the Elwood Bar & Grill at 11:30am!!
Of course the Lions even manage to find a way to screw up cheerleading:
-The group is not allowed to perform organized cheers.
-They cannot obstruct the view of fans.
-They are not allowed to take group photos of fans. Only two girls can appear in photos at a time.
-They cannot wear Lions logos or team colors. Their uniforms are blue, but they can not be "Honolulu Blue."
We can understand cheerleaders not being allowed to cheer. Not being able to get the fans excited by appearing in front of them. Not being allowed to take photos of said fans. Not being allowed to be photographed as a threesome. Not being allowed to wear Lions' logos or team colors.

But not being allowed to wear 'Honolulu Blue?" William Clay Ford? You are an idiot.
