Individual Agrees to Identify Jets Employee Who Gave Favre Jenn Sterger's Phone Number

We've learned that the investigators hired by Jenn Sterger's lawyer Joseph Conway, took a big step during this past Halloween weekend:

We made progress over the weekend. The person of interest who claims to have knowledge of the situation regarding the allegations that Jenn's personal contact info was distributed to Favre without her consent by a Jets employee in 2008, has agreed to speak with Conway and Jenn's agent, Phil Reese, this week. This person also says that he can verify the identity of the Jets employee who passed along her number.

We also can confirm that Charley Casserly's 'report' on The NFL Today yesterday that Jenn Sterger will meet with the NFL on Thursday or Friday is not at all true at the present moment. We reported yesterday that she is leaning towards an end of the week NFL meet and greet. But as of noon today - we can confirm that the meeting is not yet set.

(Casserly is apparently guessing because it makes sense that it would be Thursday or Friday. Just another so-called reporter trying to cash in on the infamy of the Deadspin allegations. We didn't know who he was until an hour ago...)

Phil Reese to the Blitz 5 minutes ago: "There is nothing definitive at the moment. It's likely, but wouldn't be before the end of the week."

Now the chain of custody of Favre's cell phone will be examined. He's apparently already admitted to leaving voicemails for Sterger. NFL / Sterger Team investigators will seek to identify the location of said phone at times when the alleged pictures of his penis popped-up on Jennifer's phone. Followed, perhaps soon, by a tracking of the third-party that provided the pics and voice mails to Deadspin.

Just think - if the Jets had started investigating their workplace environment in early August like they should have - this fiasco might have been settled already...and Chris Mortensen wouldn't have had to be wrong 6 times with source reports.
