NFL Releases Statement on Favre: You Get Nothing

The NFL released a statement on the Brett Favre Jennifer Sterger situation today. The league confirmed that it has not reached any conclusions as of yet.

Why do we get the feel that they're waiting to see if the Minnesota Vikings lose and are really, really out of it before reaching a conclusion?

With that in place, Brett could retire and the suspension wouldn't effect his consecutive start streak. However, if they don't lose this week - the league may have to come up with some kind of Michael Jordan to baseball plan.

Either way, ESPN's Chris Mortenson has been pre-empted from 'reporting' that sources tell him the league is 3-5 days from a conclusion.
