Bud Selig Finally Figures Out How to Market Black Baseball Players - Jackie Robinson Day

With the number of African American MLB players dwindling - Commish Bud Selig was at a loss. He was running out of marketable black players. So what did he do?

Jackie Robinson Day! Every player will wear #42.

But wait, you say. Jackie Robinson Day celebrated by everyone wearing #42 is a noble, if corny, gesture.

No, it isn't. Good ol' Bud is selling #42 autographed jerseys from all the MLB teams: http://bit.ly/culm1P Yep, he always knew how to profit off of a black jersey...now he's profiting off of a black player. Kudos Bud. Kudos.

Unless Jackie had a stint with the Rockies that we've all forgotten about.

Thrusting Sodomy Down Small Children's Throats is Just Plain Incorrect - Even in Rugby

"Most right-thinking people would be appalled that sex in any form and sodomy in particular is being thrust down small children's throats, yet that is what Gareth Thomas is now promoting," declared Stephen Green, director of Christian Voice, a small fundamentalist group.

Gareth 'Alf' Thomas is "the only openly gay male (professional) athlete." (That's him pictured below) Stephen Green likes to "... thank God for the honour of being locked up for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Green also appears to like sending out press releases like the one above - either unintentionally stupid or purposely filled with funny innuendo.

Either way - You should be reading Gary Smith's piece in Sports Illustrated this weekend, Gareth Thomas ... The Only Openly Gay Male Athlete. A phrenetic look at Gareth's state of mind as his secret threatens to overwhelm him. A great, great read.
