MLS' 'Good Guy' Roger Levesque Retired from the Seattle Sounders

Seattle Sounders FC forward Roger Levesque retired on Wednesday as his MLS club lost 4-2 to Chelsea FC. Simon Moyse summed the event up pretty well:

...there is one good reason to go to the game on Wednesday night; the retirement of Roger Levesque. I can’t help but wonder if the FO encouraged Levesque to make the Chelsea game his final game, in the hope of boosting those disappointing ticket sales. To me, there is a delicious irony to the idea that Roger Levesque, 2012 salary $47,500, can sell tickets that Chelsea’s millionaires couldn’t. If ever there’s an indicator of what is truly important in soccer, this is it.

The video tribute is excellent.
