Davie, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins WR Chad Johnson (mugshot above) was arrested yesterday on a domestic violence charge after he allegedly headbutted his newlywed wife, Evelyn Lozada.
Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle said Johnson and his wife were at dinner Saturday night and she confronted him about a receipt she had found for a box of condoms. One thing led to another and Lozada was treated for a forehead cut. Engle added, “It gets pretty heated. By the time they get home here in Davie it’s pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and head-butted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead.”
Engle said Johnson was in the Broward County Jail, where he would remain until he can appear before a judge, which Engle said might not be until Monday.
Note to Dolphins: Drop him now.
