And, according to friends of Treacy, Rodriguez called her up after the game and the pair later went on a date.

"I think she was pleasantly taken aback by the whole thing," a friend of Treacy said.

While he may have scored a hit with Treacy, Rodriguez and his team lost to Detroit and are one game way from being eliminated from the playoffs.

But it seems the superstar is keen to play down his encounter with the Aussie fan. When asked about the incident in the US, Rodriguez told an ESPN reporter: "Don't believe any of that shit."

Alex Rodriguez, however, went hitless (again) in tonight's elimination by Detroit. Thus ending Ms. Treacy's flaky fueled footnote.
