Following clock error, NACA Girls Championship Ends on Riverdale Baptist Steal of 2nd Inbounds Pass, 3 Pointer

Late in the National Association of Christian Athletes Division 1 Girls' Championship this past Saturday, New Hope (NC), up 2, was forced to inbound twice after a first clean attempt went off without the clock starting. Riverdale Baptist (MD) guard Chloe Jackson took advantage of the screw up, stealing the second inbounds pass with just seconds left. Down two Jackson had a choice - maybe lose to the clock going for the drive and tie or launch a three for the win.

Nailed it.

“It’s just amazing, that chain of events that happened that gave us the win,” said Jackson, who finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the win. “As I was looking at the clock when I had the ball, there was five seconds left and we’re down by two, and I’m thinking, ‘I’m going for the win. Go big or go home.’” [Washington Post]

Baptist wins the NACA Women's championship, 59-58.
