Craig Carton ripped Mike Francesa's uneducated sounding questioning style by imitating him at a presser

Meredith Marakovits does hundreds of interviews during a typical baseball season on the YES Network for the New York Yankees. Craig Carton has zeroed in on some of her favorites. During Joe Girardi's end of season presser, CC expected MM to ask, "So, is not making the post season worse than when you made the postseason 3 years ago?" "How about this Jeter, he's a good guy?"

And then Carton waled on Mike Francesa, OK? Let's be honest, WFAN employs three of the worst sounding, uhh, sports talk show hosts in the business. Verbal tics / crutches fill their sentences more frequently than do actual proper speech. And the worst of them, right right, yep, yep -- is Mike Francesa. Perhaps the most uneducated sounding fool on local talk radio. Bar none.

Carton took advantage of that foolish speech by imagining what it would be like if Mike was at the Girardi press conference.

So. Uh. Listen. Uhh. I mean. Ah. Let's be honest. You know? Uhhh. Um. Ahhh. Like. OK?

James W. Pennebaker, of the University of Texas, Austin, says these phrases are a form of dishonesty. Adding, "Yet for the listener, these phrases are confusing. They make it fairly impossible to understand, or even accurately hear, what the speaker is trying to say."

Mike Francesa was inducted into the stutterer / repeat yourself Hall of Fame last year. Which should make St. John's proud.
