Former KC Royals 'Player' Jonny Gomes Says He Was 'Sent Down' From Team's White House Visit

Recall when classless Jonny Gomes celebrated clinching the AL East title by punting beers into a Fenway crowd, cutting a fan in the process?

Jonny Gomes didn't play in a single game during the 2015 postseason (though he delivered the obnoxious signature speech at the Kansas City Royals' parade).



And now? The awful, awful news: “I’ve been sent down. I’ve been nontendered, whatever, but this is probably the worst news of my professional baseball career,” Gomes told Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.

What's that mean? No trip to the white house.
