Video: Bill Belichick supported the Boston Police Department at his Friday presser

"Alright, before we get into Cincinnati, just on behalf of the team, we just want to send our appreciation and support for the Boston Police Department. Kind of what they've been going through here the last couple days, the injured officers, their families, just I can imagine...I can't imagine, but I can imagine...the amount of stress that that department has to deal with and their challenges every day and the difficulty of the situation that they've been put in," is how Bill Belichick opened his Friday press conference (transcribed by Tyler Sullivan).

Two longtime officers, Richard Cintolo and Matt Morris, were critically wounded Wednesday night while responding to a domestic dispute between roommates.

One of the roommates donned a ballistic vest and opened fire on the officers in a hallway. Other officers pulled the wounded men to safety and killed the gunman.

The injured officers were listed in critical but stable condition early Friday, and both had surgeries scheduled.

BPD tweeted THX.
