If the Packers and Lions finish in a tie all three teams would finish 9-6-1. Green Bay would win the NFC North because of their head-to-head win over the Lions. The Lions would get the 6th NFC playoff spot thanks to a Week 7 win over the Redskins.
Marc Malusis & Kim Jones were running down the NFC Playoff scenarios yesterday. Moose made the assumption that Dallas would win last night and then played it out with Washington winning next week.
Lions win tonight (MNF) they're 9-6. If Redskins win next week, they're 9-6-1. So that means, if the Skins win Sunday, they'd only have 6 losses. Whoever loses between Packers and Lions would have 7!
Jones: I think that's accurate then. You need the Lions to lose.
Malusis: You need the Lions to lose.
Jones: We got there!
NO! NO YOU DIDN'T! THE REDSKINS NEEDED THE LIONS TO LOSE (they did) AND THEY NEED TO WIN NEXT WEEK AND THEY NEED THE PACKERS AND LIONS NOT TO TIE!!! (And wouldn't it be advantageous for the Lions and Packers to tie each other? Hmmmmmm.....)
Jones and Malusis completely missed it.
That's just bad work outta WFAN's go to fill in duo. Boomer Esiason would not be happy.
