FAIL: CBS' Tony Awards Ratings Fall on Homophobic Stephen Colbert Appearance

After hitting a 15-year ratings high last year -- the Tony Awards on CBS this year with an appearance by homophobic Stephen Colbert drew only a 4.7 metered market household rating against the, hehe, deciding game in the Stanley Cup Final. That was down 31% from last year’s 6.8 rating!

CBS and homophobes...perfect together.

The Tonys’ delivery also was below the 2015 show (5.1).

The trend held in the fast nationals, with the Tony Awards averaging 6 million viewers and a 0.9 adults 18-49 Live+same day rating, down -31% and -44%, respectively, from 2016.
