Daily News' Pat Leonard calls for Giants to cut off negotiations with Odell Beckham...& then the story disappears

Pat Leonard of the NY Daily News wrote in Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. mixed up in Atlanta club brawl just a few minutes ago:

Odell Beckham Jr. can't stay out of internet trouble.

Saturday afternoon, Black Sports Online posted a video of a man BSO identifies as Beckham getting into a tussle at The Gold Room in Atlanta on Friday night. And a Twitter user @DeminoSavage added a second video that appeared to show Beckham taking a sucker-punch in the back of the head.

Leonard went on:

Beckham is entering the fifth and final year of his entry-level contract with the Giants. His $8.4 million salary on the option year became fully guaranteed to injury on the first day of the league year on Wednesday.

But Beckham is seeking a major contract extension from the Giants and his continued appearances in the news in compromising situations isn't helping his negotiations, to say the least.

Giants president John Mara has to decide when enough is enough. Cutting off negotiations entirely should have already happened. A trade can't be ruled out.

The News made that piece disappear. It's been replaced by Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. target of false report over Atlanta club brawl: 'This is 100% not Odell'. Leonard now writes:

“This is 100% not Odell. He was not and is not in Atlanta,” a source close to Beckham Jr. told the News. “He has not even been in the state of Georgia recently. The people who falsely posted and reported this will be hearing from his lawyers.”

He added, "BSO said a bottle girl at the Gold Room had confirmed the man in the video is Beckham. But while the man had dark skin, blonde hair and chains around his neck, it is only a Beckham imposter."

That article, with no call to 'cut off negotiations' remains up.
