UMBC’s Historic Upset of Virginia To Be Rebroadcast On SiriusXM

Retrievers’ defeat of the top-seeded Cavaliers, first time in the history of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship history that a 16-seed has beaten a 1-seed, airs Wednesday at 7pm

NEW YORK, NY – March 21, 2018 – In the midst of a NCAA® Men’s Basketball Championship that is once again delivering the thrilling, bracket-busting moments that drive fans mad every March, SiriusXM listeners will get another chance to experience the greatest Cinderella upset of them all. SiriusXM will air a special re-broadcast of the historic first round victory by the University of Maryland-Baltimore County over the top-seeded Virginia Cavaliers, the first time in NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship history that a #16-seed has defeated a #1-seed.

The Retrievers’ 74-54 win, from the opening tip to the final buzzer, will air today, Wednesday, March 21, at 7:00 pm ET on SiriusXM channel 84. Listeners will hear the exciting call by Westwood One’s broadcast team of Kevin Kugler and Eric Montross. At halftime, listeners will hear a Sweet 16 preview hosted by Brad Heller and Jon Crispin.
