Steve Ballmer 2007: The Apple iPhone's $500 dollar price is a joke

2007 at Rockefeller Center CNBC's Scott Wapner asked Microsoft's Steve Ballmer about the just released Apple iPhone retailing for $500 bucks. Ballmer's reply?

"Five hundred dollars? Fully subsidized with a plan?" Ballmer told CNBC's Scott Wapner. "That is the most expensive phone in the world. And it doesn't appeal to business customers because it doesn't have a keyboard, which makes it not a very good e-mail machine."

On January 9, 2007 Apple introduced the iPhone.
