The Blitz Ran Into Alistair Overeem, Nick Newell, & Nate Quarry Last Night

The Blitz was up late last night (as you might be able to tell by Bob's...look) and after spending way too much money on vodka at Bobby Van's Grill Times Square, we met up with current MMA fighters Alistair Overeem and Nick Newell as well as retired UFC brawler and current analyst Nate Quarry on the set of Spike TV's MMA Uncensored Live.

Three things to take away from the evening. 1) The Reem, currently suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for elevated levels of testosterone (ratio of 14-to-1) until December 27th, apparently has a meeting this month with the NSAC in order to try and speed up the process. Alistair wants to fight Junior Dos Santos at the UFC's year-end show in Las Vegas on Dec 29, 2012.

2. Nate Quarry is like a live, walking, talking XBOX360 Mortal Combat character. Quarry may have fought at 185 but he is a rock solid 215, minimum.

3. Nick '10 Fingers are Overrated' Newell, who KO'd David Mays at XFC 19: Charlotte Showdown in North Carolina last week -- is a complete gentlemen. Introduced to me by Craig Carton, he was a great guy. A guy that is easy to root for and one that you should be following on Twitter. Now.

Oh, and Newell will be fighting Eric "It's a Wrap" Reynolds for the XFC Lightweight Title at XFC 21 at the Nashville Municiple Auditorium Friday December 7th.
