Flopping Out caught TBS' marketing folks being a bit over anxious. Understandable as the Red Sox had a 99.7% chance of making the playoffs on September 3rd.
Nick Dimi heard MLB's post-season ad read on WFAN: "While reading an @MLB ad for the playoffs, @MikeFrancesaNY said 'you can follow the MLB playoffs on Twitter at pound playoffs.'" A WFAN mistake? Nope, social media folks at Major League Baseball rolled out a big Twitter marketing campaign without knowing what a # was called (hashtag).
Finally, the worst for last. Sports Grid's Timothy Burke noted that TBS not only made up non-existent newspaper headlines -- they also took text, sans attribution, and used that under said headlines.
