FAIL: Craig Carton talking New Jersey gun laws is comical

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of a 9 mm handgun and for a magazine with six hollow-point bullets without a permit as well as having less than 50 grams of marijuana marijuana after he was pulled over for speeding on the Walt Whitman Bridge according to a court complaint.

In NJ, a legally owned gun shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel, shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances.

The firearm should not be directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console.

What happens when sports guys talk gun laws? WFAN's guffawing Jerry Recco was happy that Huff quickly told the cop that his illegal gun was right there accessible from the door's compartment. (Yay Josh!) Craig Carton? According to him NJ must have a forced open carry statute - Carton stated that guns transported through the Garden State 'must be holstered.'

SMH. Make sure you let your attorney know that next time you're stopped, Lone Ranger.

In a related note - Up until and including last week -- the safer hollow point bullets had been disappearing from store shelves as folks feared a Hillary Clinton administration. Those fears have laxed a bit but...still might want to stock up when able.
