Stunning video: Trapped riders rescued from sky ride over Rhine river in Germany

Just a month ago 47 year old Schenectady contractor Matthew Howard Sr. & his 21-year-old daughter Leeann Winchell caught a 14 year old girl who fell out of the Sky Ride at Six Flags Great Escape Amusement Park in Queensbury, N.Y. You'd think that'd keep folks out of sky rides. But, alas, nope. As many as 100 passengers were evacuated from suspended cable cars that run over the Rhine River in Cologne after a gondola crashed into a support pillar.

Public transportation authorities for the city in North-Rhine-Westphalia state said 32 of the cars were operating when the mishap occurred on Sunday.

Firefighters rescued men, women, and children.

Recall 2012? Power went out on the pier in Seaside during a severe thunderstorm leaving folks trapped on the Skyride in front of the boardwalk.,,And 17-year-old Springfield birthday girl Melanie Rossomando jumped.
