7,580 U.S. residents ages 18-65 were queried about their grooming habits according to a new study published in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections.
Pubic hair grooming was positively correlated with a lifetime history of cutaneous STIs, secretory STIs and pubic lice. Future, prospective studies are warranted to confirm our cross-sectional findings and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms for their insight into new STI risk-reduction strategies.
