8-yr-old Knoxx Lamb hit a 1/2 court shot for his deceased mom at Coaches v Cancer event

Fort Branch, IN -- Knoxx Lamb, 8, is a third-grader at Fort Branch Community School who plays basketball and baseball. He gets his basketball abilities from his mother, Casey, who is a University of Southern Indiana Hall of Famer.

Casey died from breast cancer in October.

Tuesday, Gibson Southern High School held a "Coaches vs. Cancer" night and donated all proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

Lamb's name was drawn to compete against a seventh-grader. Lamb sank the shot first and won $60. Everyone in the gym exploded.

"It felt good," he said. "She helped me."
