The plot of land known for a decade as ground zero opened to the public at 10 am today under heavy security. Memorial Plaza includes hundreds of white oak trees on an eight-acre site that was the former home of the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center.
2,977 people were murdered on that site 10 years ago but the terrorists' aim failed. Instead of dividing the country - it brought us all together. Closer than ever before.
And last night, when the NYC Freedom Tower was lit up red-white-and-blue, we were all one.
