Sopranos' cast members give Vanity Fair some oral

The cast of the Sopranos (including from left in a great photo BY ANNIE LEIBOVITZ, David Proval (Richie Aprile), Vincent Pastore (Sal “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero), Annabella Sciorra (Gloria Trillo), model and prop head substituting for an absent Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto), Drea de Matteo (Adriana La Cerva), and Steve Buscemi (Tony Blundetto)) talked to Vanity Fair contributing editor Sam Kashner in the April 2012 issue. One of the great stories comes from Drea de Matteo (who is playing a stripper on Californication these days):

Drea de Matteo tells Kashner that [creator David) Chase told her, “You don’t look Italian. You look like a hostess of a restaurant.” The actress, who would play Christopher Moltisanti’s girlfriend, Adriana, in the series, played a restaurant hostess in the pilot. “Later on I hated saying ‘Christopher’ with my accent. I would beg David to let me say ‘Chrissy’ because I felt like my accent sounded really, really fake. Now when I walk down the street, people say, ‘Just give me one Chris-ta-fuh.’”

Issue hits the stands today. Online, a portion.
