"They want to get rid of us at the end of May," said current owner Chris Villano, who put the place into bankruptcy a few months ago.
"We need $1 million to get it back on its feet," said Bill Liederman, an original partner who sold his stake in the business seven years ago. He's reportedly called on the likes of David Cone, Ron Guidry, and Goose Gossage to ante up with $10k apiece.
How about the current millionaire roster? "Their agents just laugh," he said.
Villano apparently stopped paying rent to ATCO four months ago over issues that kept him from renovating its facade. He's threatened to countersue the landlord for trying to find a new tenant, despite the default on rent.
