Soccer's Volante Derlan suspended 30 days for this ref beating

A player for EC Iranduba da Amazônia, midfielder Volante Derlan, totally lost it Wednesday during a match against Sao Raimundo-AM. After being shown the door prior to halftime, Derlan attacked referee Joao Batista Cunha Brito. He was promptly arrested by riot police.



(*Update, Derlan has been suspended for 30 days. That could be increased to 2 years after his case is heard by a domestic tribunal.)
