Boomer & Carton golf in the New York Yankees / New Era Pinstripe Bowl Charity Golf Tournament

WFAN's Craig Carton & Boomer Esiason joined a long list of celebrities yesterday at Forsgate Country Club for the 2nd annual New York Yankees / New Era Pinstripe Bowl Charity Golf Tournament. Carton MC'd the event, almost getting tased by security for touching the Yankees' 2009 World Series Trophy.

Carton also did a great job of driving up the prices during an afternoon auction that included 2 passes to next year's Masters Finals, tickets to the Big East Tournament (and a ball autographed by all the conference's coaches), plus a very cool set of 'Bomber Skis' autographed by the entire New York Yankees team.

Carton teed off the day before passing the microphone to Yankees President Randy Levine and then Chief Operating Officer Lonn A. Trost.

Net proceeds from the event benefit the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center, Tourette Syndrome Association of Central New Jersey, the Boomer Esiason Foundation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis and UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation and promotes the December college bowl game that is held at Yankee Stadium. Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti and new football head coach Kyle Flood both attended.

Other attendees included Brian Cashman, New York Yankees GM; Former NY Mets and Yankees pitcher David Cone, YES Network Broadcaster; Former Yankee John Flaherty, YES Network Broadcaster; Former Yankee and Met (current sweetheart) Lee Mazzilli; and many others.

Former Giants tight end Mark Bavaro said, "Any time you can support these organizations, especially by playing golf, that's a nice day. I'm just happy to be a part of it."

Indeed.
