Yankees Fan Hit in Eye with Ball Loses Sight, $54k -- Indians Offer him a 'Fan Package'

Rochester, NY -- Keith Rawlins was at the July 20th Cleveland Indians / Baltimore Orioles game when officials asked his section to exit so they could set up for post game activities. Keith and his daughter got up and started to walk out when CRACK “My face exploded. I knew what happened instantly. I knew I had been hit by a foul ball,” he said. “It was arguably the only ball I’ve taken my eyes off of in 50,000 in the last 15 years,” Rawlins said.

10 hours of surgery later, doctors were able to repair his eye socket and nose fractures, however he may never regain sight in his left eye and Keith is now about $54,000 in debt.

Keith's Facebook page MAKE MLB SAFE FOR FANS reads, "At a recent MLB baseball game with my daughter I was nearly fatally struck by a foul ball that has left me blind in my left eye, among many other serious medical and non-medical issues. Please help me force MLB to do everything they can to make sure this does not happen agaain. [sic]"
