43-year-old Rutgers' Head men's basketball coach Mike Rice rapelled down Harborside Financial Center Plaza 5 building in Jersey City yesterday for Coaches vs. Cancer. That's 500 feet up ladies and gentlemen.
“I would like to say it was exhilarating and cool, but when he told me to put my weight over the edge and sit down in the harness, all I could feel was my heart racing and pumping,” Rice said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have to do this.’ ”
And he did. In just under 9 minutes he was back on the ground.
Rice's “Over the Edge,” raised more than $250,000 for cancer research.
