9-year-old dressed for Halloween shot by uncle who thought she was a skunk

A 9-year-old New Sewickley Township girl dressed for Halloween was shot by an uncle who thought she was a skunk. That's probably enough but here's further explanation:

New Sewickley Police Chief Ronald Leindecker said "an unidentified male relative mistook the girl, who was wearing a black costume and a black hat with white tassel, for a skunk and shot her in the shoulder with a shotgun."

The girl was airlifted to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh where her condition was not released. The man had not been drinking and a decision on charges had not been made at press time.
