Our offices have filed numerous complaints with the Do Not Call Registry about unwanted calls from 1-800-335-9188. Today they actually had a computer answer when we said hello. 3 options for a name regarding student debt collection.

#3 was "I don't know this person."

When the CSR got on she said the call was being recorded. We said - we also are recording the call and that we wanted the calls to stop.

She said she didn't authorize us to record her!

And then she hung up.

Seems like the FTC's Registry is a bit of a joke.

**Update, 8003359188 actually called back and -- we really did record them (same CSR to boot).
