Texans Granted TD as play becomes unreviewable due to Lions coach Jim Schwartz throwing challenge flag

All scoring plays are automatically reviewed. Houston Texan Justin Forsett ran to the endzone during yesterday's Lions game and Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz decided to throw the challenge flag. Rule 15, Section 9 states that the penalty for initiating a challenge when a team is prohibited from doing so is a loss of 15 yards.

But also in Section 9 is the statement that any foul that delays the ensuing snap makes the previous play unreviewable. Coaches throwing a flag on plays that are automatically reviewed would do that (delay the ensuing snap). So? This Forsett run is now a 'touchdown.'

Exactly what we as fans want with the NFL replay system. Just getting the call right.
