Jovan Belcher video: Police found him asleep in car hours before murder and 'cut him a break'

Whoa. Kansas City Police have released dashcam video titled Dec. 1, 2012, Belcher Armour Blvd. car check that is of Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher hours before he killed Kasandra Perkins and then offed himself. Now in context, it's potentially awful, damning video. Michael David Smith writes:

What audio exists mostly demonstrates that the officers were impressed with Belcher’s car. One officer asked, “What do you do?” and it sounded like Belcher answered, “play for the Chiefs.” Belcher later said, “It’s a $200,000 car,” and an officer replied, “I’ll make that in, like, three years.”

Belcher was outside the home of another girlfriend, and officers urged him to go inside. They also said, “We’re trying to cut you a break here,” without elaborating. Officers left as Belcher was let into the home.

Audio begins at 4:57

Easy to speculate why he was passed out in his car at that time of night. Just as easy to speculate on what his 'break' may have not prevented.
