Comment 1, okgo43: "He's showing how ridiculous parents are that discourage their child's personal ambitions and artistic abilities. He solidifies this, and goes even further with his satire by saying "this is bullshit" at the end of the scene. The comedy in this show is subtle, and requires a satirical eye. If you don't understand this humor here, then I'm sure you'd have trouble finding the humor in most of his skits."
Comment 2, Lowell Isaac: "This is being a parent in a nutshell. Every moment with a child should be appreciated, but so much of the time you're consumed with frustration. It's one paradox after another, which Louis expresses more honestly and powefully than anybody. Any parent should get this instantly."
