Laugh For Sight is a non-profit organization located in New York City. Our collective goals are to raise funds and public awareness for retinal degenerative eye diseases – specifically retinitis pigmentosa, stargardt's disease, and macular degeneration. The proceeds benefit the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and Guiding Eyes for the Blind – one of the top guide dog schools in the world.
Laugh For Sight was founded by blind stand-up comedian, Brian Fischler. The first event was held in Beverly Hills, California in March of 1999 and benefited The Foundation Fighting Blindness. In 2005, the fundraiser moved to New York City's famous Gotham Comedy Club, located at 208 West 23rd Street. Laugh for Sight is known for having a rare lineup of some of the biggest names in stand up comedy.
