Mike Francesa's strained relationship with FOX Sports continued yesterday

Mike Francesa took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday at his annual Summer Beach Party at Bar A in Lake Como, NJ. And Mike's strained relationship with FOX continued. Imprimis, the network upset Mike and fans by broadcasting the event on FS2, instead of on the much more wildely available FS1. Earlier this year Francesa said of his new partner, "We've been pre-empted far more than I ever thought possible." There had been two "major meetings" trying to find a solution, he added at the time, "but we have not worked it out yet." It's well known that Francesa wants out.

This isn't going to help. Sources indicate Mike was livid at the coverage. Going as far as blaming FOX executives for not helping him get the over-the-top publicity for the fundraising event that Francesa had anticipated. It was nowhere near the viral success Mike had predicted. Which very well may have been the first time someone applied the Tankmush...to themselves.

Secondly? FOX's Aja Dang wasn't impressed because, in her words, "Mike didn't use ice." Check the tapes.



Francesa's reputation for not working well with others hasn't changed since he moved to the FOX network either. In May, he begrudgingly spoke with Fox Sports NFL draft experts Peter Schrager and Joel Klatt. Last week, he threatened new neighbor Doug Gottlieb's producer, Adam Klug.

But sicking Aja on him because ice melts during an August in New Jersey and then becomes...ice water? No fair.
