“Let’s face it: Belichick probably did it himself,” said Ryan from the ESPN TV set in Phoenix. “He’s the one that pulled the thing and created a different story. Those things happen. You try to prepare your team in the offseason – training camps and all that kind of stuff. Would you pull a fire alarm or something? You may.”
“Ironically that’s happened to us a couple times in New England,” Ryan cracked. “I don’t think it’s that big a deal unless it’s the night before.”
Yeah, that's not ironic, dummy.
“I was not there,” Ryan said. “You can’t blame that one on me.”
Ryan also weighed in DeflateGate:
“It’s an unfortunate black eye for the NFL,” Ryan said “Hopefully everything (will smooth) out, we figure out what’s up and we don’t have to talk about it anymore. You talking about deflating the balls. Ironically, what Seattle needs to do is take the air out of the football to beat New England in the Super Bowl.”
