Mike Francesa has been around the NFL for 40 years. Mike's take on the impact of Chris Borland's retirement (delivered all while he participates in the only exercise he ever gets...stroking his Paper Mate pen) is that young athletes and their families, ones that are talented enough to perhaps one day make it to the NFL, will choose other sports (i.e. baseball & basketball) that are less CTE prone. Mother's who see the research Chris cited will have their 10 & 12 year old kids pointed away from football -- causing an enormous void of football talent in 10 years.
