A year to the day she was paralyzed, Olympian Van Dyken-Rouen threw out the first pitch as part of #Dbacks Disabilities Awareness Day

A year ago Saturday, Van Dyken-Rouen, one of the most-celebrated U.S. Olympians of all time with 6 Olympic golds in swimming, was left paralyzed from the waist down after crashing her all-terrain vehicle on an Arizona golf course.

A year later - she threw out the first pitch as part of the Arizona Diamondbacks Disabilities Awareness Day.
