The Simpsons predicted the St. Louis Cardinals hacking fiasco in "Brother's Little Helper" (the second episode of The Simpsons' 11th season that first aired October 3, 1999). Bart, under the effects of 'Focusyn,' becomes an insane conspiracy theorist convinced that Major League Baseball is spying on the town using satellites.
To which St. Louis Cardinal Mark McGwire states, "Young Bart here was right, we are spying on you - pretty much around the clock."
