Phil Mushnick, today:
It is high … it is far … it is another Sterling slip
What a sustaining pity that, in John Sterling, in his 26th season as The Voice of the New York Yankees, such a famous, fabled franchise — as it’s always eager to remind us — remains wedded to a career-long condescending, self-smitten, guesswork-reliant, front-and-center fool.
New Yankee Rob Refsnyder is Korean, thus his first home run allowed Sterling, rehearsed for such an event, to holler, “Rob Refsnyder has soul!” As in Seoul. Get it?
Cheap, easy, forced, self-promotional, pathetic. Sophisticated sports town, New York.
And to top off how bad Sterling is - his call replays during updates make WFAN a must not listen during their way too frequent slots.
