Dana White says Tito's a liar.
“That was a complete lie,” White told Yahoo! Sports on Saturday. “It’s 100 percent a lie. First of all, the UFC doesn’t even talk to Tito Ortiz, so let’s start there. But we haven’t offered any fight to (Cyborg). Tito Ortiz is just making this shit up. In no way, shape or form did we offer her a fight against Ronda at Cowboys Stadium. Completely untrue.”
Justino herself added to the drama by posting on Facebook that she and Ortiz weren’t lying and that she’d be ready to drop to 135 pounds and fight Rousey in December.
“I can confirm that I had multiple conversations with the UFC in the last week regarding Cris and a potential fight (against Rousey) in December,” [Justino’s manager and attorney George] Prajin said. “I can also confirm the end result of those conversations is that Cris is agreeable to fighting Ronda on Dec. 5 at Cowboys Stadium (at 135 pounds).”
Sam Galanis writes, "The rumors earlier this month had been that UFC 194 would feature a mega-card with bouts between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor and Rousey against Miesha Tate. It’s entirely possible that UFC also explored the possibility of putting Justino on that card, but it remains to be seen if she can actually safely drop from 145 to 135 pounds that quickly."
It also remains to be seen how the champ has always had issues with 'that dude.' In 2012 on Craig Carton's now defunct Spike TV's MMA Uncensored, the UFC champ said, "I just don't understand where her sense of entitlement is coming from. She hasn't fought in like two years and won a fight that's really counted. If this happened to a man, think about it, if this was the men's division, and it was someone who hadn't recorded a win in two years then had their title stripped from them because they were caught cheating -- would you expect them to come back from their suspension and be like, 'I want the biggest title fight out there, with all the considerations that I want? And if not given to me, it's because they're running from me."
So how's she going to react to brass giving a steroid cheat who has 4 fights in the past 4 years in that Invicta FC a title shot? $$ or no $$, that's a lot to ask.
