Radio Shock Jock Anthony Cumia Arrested for Assault, Strangulation, Unlawful Imprisonment

Cumia, who was well-known for co-hosting "Opie and Anthony," was arrested on Sunday in in Roslyn Heights. Charges include strangulation, criminal mischief, assault and unlawful imprisonment, police said.

"Mr. Cumia emphatically denies the allegations brought against him, and is optimistic that when the truth comes out, he will be exonerated," Cumia's lawyer Alan Schwartz said. "Simply put, things are not always what they appear to be, and this case is a perfect example of that."

The alleged victim is a 26-year-old woman, sources said.
