Now an Ex-Con, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas Mother Attempting to See Son Play for 1st Time

Katrina Smith, arrested when Thomas was 11 years old, was released from federal prison last summer and was restricted from travel, The Associated Press reported. The Broncos face the Steelers Sunday and, apparently, she's attempting to see him play.

Smith was one of 46 people whose sentences were commuted by President Barack Obama in July.

Nate Scott reports Smith and Thomas’ grandmother, Minnie Thomas, were arrested in 1999 for narcotics trafficking, and had been in prison since Demaryius Thomas was 11 years old. Smith was scheduled to be released in 2017, while Minnie Thomas received a life sentence.

Now word on whether Katrina has signed up for federally mandated ObamaCare or not.
