Phil Mushnick predicted Boomer Esiason would read Super Bowl L ratings asap

Boomer Esiason acknowledged during SB50 coverage that he had changed his opinion of the Cam Newton of 3 years ago.

Unfortunately that opinion was delivered 3 months ago.

But, whatever.

Phil Mushnick predicted the flip flopper would report the ratings asap:

By Tuesday, CBS will release some kind of news that Super Bowl 50 set some kind of record among some kind of demographic — self-employed male drifters, named Richard, ages 25-39 — for Super Bowl viewership. The news will be shaped to have us believe that we watched the game because it was on CBS, as opposed to, say, NBC.

By 9:40 AM ET Monday, Esiason had read the overnight ratings.

Here's why CBS' awful coverage almost couldn't have not had the most viewed Bowl in history.

Michael O'Connell reports, "The first number for Super Bowl 50, based on Nielsen's metered markets, is a 49 rating and a massive 73 share among households. That's just off from last year's 49.7 rating. The 2015 overnight rating marked an all-time high for the Super Bowl, ultimately translating to an average 114.4 million viewers. It topped the previous year's game (111.5 million viewers) to become the most-watched telecast in U.S. TV history."
