Recall when Tumwater High School (Tacoma) running back Ronnie Hastie was flagged for pointing to the sky after scoring a TD last winter? Louisville High School's (Ohio) Alex Schooley did the same thing in tribute to Dominic Wilgus, who had died on August 22nd. Flagged, the penalty gave their opponent, Walsh Jesuit, excellent field position which helped them kick a 29 yard field goal to win the game as time ran out.
Jeeze.

By now you know that Gary Carter is fighting glioblastoma multiforme, often referred to as the terminator, and that his daughter has been keeping a web journal on the Kid's battles.
Yesterday, on the CaringBridge / TheKid8/ Journal, Kimmie Bloemers informed readers that her dad also has blood clots. ESPNNewYork.com's Mike Mazzeo (BS, Sport Management, Drexel), in what ESPN would probably call a 'business decision', wrote it up this way:
"These blood clots are very controllable and this new medication should help dissolve the problems," Bloemers wrote on the website, to which ESPNNewYork.com has been granted access.
"...to which ESPNNewYork.com has been granted access..."?

Phillies pitcher (and newly anointed douchejuice) Cliff Lee on not running out a routine grounder against the Reds: "I should have run right there. There's no way he's throwing that ball away. But that's not good. I should have run right there. But whatever."
Here's to the Cincinnati fans who booed. Announcers like to point out 'smart' fans. There were fans who respect the game.

Sunday, newlyweds Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian sat down in first class on a Delta flight heading to New Orleans when, what to their wondering eyes should appear?
Kris Humphries was stone-faced seated next to Kim Kardashian’s ex, Ray J, on a Delta flight Sunday from LA to New Orleans. Humphries, who boarded in Minneapolis, was in an aisle seat across from the singer in first class. Humphries sat there for a few minutes before moving to a seat in front of Ray J.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, Ray Jay whistled, and shouted:
Ray J walked up to Humphries’ seat to congratulate him, but Kris acted like he didn’t recognize him. According to a source, “Ray J said, ‘Come on, you know who I am. I just want to say congratulations.’ Then Kris, realizing he was cornered, said, ‘Oh yeah, yeah, I’m sorry I know who you are.’ ”
And called him by name. A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his sack.

Troy Aikman appeared on KTCK - AM SportsRadio 1310 recently and Skip Bayless' book, Hell-Bent: The Crazy Truth About the "Win or Else" Dallas Cowboys, was the topic of conversation. Seems Skip may have tried outting Troy in said book.
Troy was none too happy. How unhappy? He said he wasn't sure that Skip wasn't gay and that he couldn't guarantee that 'it wouldn't get physical' if he ever ran into Bayless.
McCarren Park, Nassau Avenue, Bayard, Leonard and North 12 Streets Brooklyn - The Vagina Tree is done. Irene took it out this past weekend. The Brooklyn Paper's Aaron Short said it best:
But Irene’s furiously swirling winds licked the tree forcefully enough to snap it just above its waist on Sunday. All that remains is a spent stump.
One would have thought that with all the fertilizer spread about McCarren - the tree would have been a bit stronger.

It has lots of cherries and it goes bad in January.
A Night of Style & Glamour to Welcome Newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries was held at Capitale last night. What may be the worst posed picture, ever, came out of the event. Yet you will not be able to look away.
