Prank callers made it on the line with Team USA coach John Tortorella Tuesday

Pat Leonard writes:

USA Hockey held a Tuesday media teleconference to discuss Tortorella’s hiring as coach of Team USA for the World Cup of Hockey in 2016, and three consecutive prank callers sent the conference into a complete tailspin, beginning with a hack who identified himself as Gil Johnson with Slapshot.org.

“Hi, hello coach? I heard, John, you say about the whole family tree thing; that was funny,” Johnson said. “Real quick: Your mom is so bald, even a wig wouldn’t help. Did you hear that one?”

“Pardon me?” Tortorella responded.

A USA Hockey official pleaded with a moderator named Jennifer to move to the next caller, but Johnson had the last word.

“Ahh, puck you!” he shouted before the hang-up.

2 more followed that.

Did Mets manager Terry Collins out Wilmer Flores as gay?

With mushmouth NY Mets manager, one can never be sure but it certainly sounds like he said, of Wilmer Flores and his tears, "Here's a gay kid in the middle of a game."

Phil Jackson admits destroying the Knicks

Asked by reporters what he enjoys about being president of the NY Knicks, 'given that this is something you wanted to do,' Phil Jackson replies: “It’s not something I wanted to do, it’s something my partner said, ‘You’re sitting on all this information. Come on out and destroy a basketball team that you love. So that’s what I’ve done.”

Hilarious. And his own female Ed McMahon, Ramona Shelburne apparently, doesn't help.

Worse now that the audio has surfaced.

Oh boy.

Why yes, there is audio.

Victor Cruz Bets Radio Host Giants Will Beat Redskins, Which is Completely Illegal

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz bet HOT 97 host Peter Rosenberg that the Gints will beat the Skins tonight. Rosenberg agreed to buy Cruz “some sort of cool fashionable thing that Laura (his co-host) advises me to buy.”

If Washington wins, Cruz agreed to buy “four prime seats to the rematch game at MetLife Stadium in December.” [Gridiron Grit]

Why yes, that is completely illegal. Expect Roger Goodell to come down hard.

Worrying just enough, Keyshawn Johnson went on the Michael Kay show for the Boomer Esiason counterattack

Earlier today Boomer Esiason compared Wayne Chrebet to Keyshawn Johnson:

“I just hated the fact that Keyshawn Johnson called him the mascot of the Jets,” Boomer said. “Totally disrespectful. If you put Keyshawn Johnson and Wayne Chrebet in a room together and you looked at the guys, you’d say, ‘OK, who’s gonna be the better player?’ You would say that Keyshawn Johnson would be because he’s more gifted and everything else. But I’ll tell you what. You take Wayne Chrebet’s heart out of him and put it into Keyshawn Johnson, you got Jerry Rice. That’s basically what you have.”

And Super Bowl champion Keyshawn took to Twitter, posting, "If I worried about that trash of a QB my life would be over!! Some people just need ratings."

Apparently he worried about that trash just enough because an hour later he was on The Michael Kay Show.

KJ told TMKS that (paraphrased for speed): "...this is an act that he (Boomer) always does. Whether its me a couple years ago, attacking Dan Marino about not winning a championship, comparing Peyton Manning to Dan Marino on CBS to the point where Marino looked like he was ready to slap him. So it's nothing new. He's never played with me, he doesn't know me outside of a production meeting when he was working with ABC / ESPN before Al Michaels got rid of him. This guys behavior, I don't know if it's ratings - keep my name out of your mouth. There's no reason to be talking about me. Bill Parcells...Tony Dungy...Jon Gruden, etc. never had a problem with me. So I don't know where this guys gets off talking about me."

Johnson then went on to say, "You're only as good as your quarterbacks..."

Don La Greca called Boomers Tin Man take - 'a lazy analysis.'

Not their first go round. 3 years ago, Johnson said Boomer was infatuated with him.

*Update, Boomer responded by saying that Keyshawn spawned the diva class of wide receivers and that these types of fights are like crack cocaine to tattling loving Michael Kay.

Craig Carton: NFL lying about not seeing video of Ray Rice attack video until yesterday

New York, NY -- While the NFL has denied they saw the TMZ obtained video of Ray Rice attacking his wife before yesterday, WFAN's Craig Carton claims to know that the in fact had. Today on the Boomer and Carton Program, Carton stated:

"I can tell you as a fact that members of the NFL were at the Revel Casino and saw the video. Not Roger Goodell, but people representing the NFL's interests saw that video."

Carton commented on the NFL's stance that they had requested any and all evidence but that no one in their offices had seen it (the video) until yesterday:

"It's a lie."

Radio audio of Floyd Mayweather trying to read is just sad

50 Cent challenged Floyd Mayweather to 'read a full page out of a Harry Potter book out loud without starting and stopping or fucking up.' IF he could do it -- $750k to ALS.

Power 105's The Breakfast Club? They have audio of Floyd trying to read drops. It isn't pretty.

Once you hear this John Jastremski "J.J. After Dark" clip, you'll never hear JJ the same again

We endorsed John Jastremski three years ago so you know we like him. But once you see this YouTube write up and then listen to the following clip, you'll never listen to John again without thinking about this post.

Former WFAN intern and later fantasy phenom contest winner John Jastremski calls himself "J.J. After Dark". I added the "Smilin" part because he has the odd trait of sounding like he is smiling when he talks. With his voice perhaps he shouldn't be mocking callers' voices.

WFAN's "Smilin' J.J. After Dark"

He actually does. Which is a great customer service ploy. Always, always let the customer hear you smiling through your voice.

Mike Missanelli’s Interview with Lenny Dykstra is Must Hear Radio

Mike Missanelli’s interview with Lenny Dykstra, as Crossing Broad writes, includes talk of "Dykstra's thoughts on taking steroids, walking around like he had a “10-inch you know what,” his hypothetical threatening of umpires, Ben Revere, the 1993 Phillies, baseball and life in general. It’s fantastic. You can’t stop listening."

Indeed. Here's some highlights:

The most ridiculous round of Comcast XFINITY recorded customer service phone calls you will ever hear

Ad nauseam you know of our 7 week fight with Comcast. (Updates are still here.) 3/6/14 took the cake. 12:15 PM ET -- Internet is out. Right after this Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=44:32:c8:25:fc:ed;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:24:52:c2;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

Tech says that he sees a lot of 'very low signal strength' in the area. Degraded. Needs to open a 'back end' ticket. The first Comcast employee to openly state that he sees a problem and that it is with them. (We've had one say the pad to the node needs to be checked but not this openly state that there is a problem effecting the neighborhood.)

As we're transferred to a CSR to open the ticket -- the phone drops. Call back and customer service transfers us to..WiFi support because they don't see any note of a problem...At this point we begin recording because something smells.

Tier 2 reads and clarifies the problem - the cable from the box back needs to be checked as signal is bad to multiple boxes, by their readings, in the hood. He sees it. He's going to write up more detailed notes before transferring us to a CSR to schedule a truck roll.

15 minutes later. Cut off again. Call directly in to 800-Comcast and the CSR again has no clue. We hang up after he wants to troubleshoot our issue which has been troubleshot for 2 months!

Call WiFi support directly. And now this guy, the third, has no idea what we're talking about.

4 phone calls following an actual Comcast employee saying that 'the problem is outside past your box' and all of a sudden disconnects and lost notes. Fishy.

**Update. 7 weeks in, Comcast admits there's a problem...and? They're going to bill us despite knowing they made an accounting mistake. [Like, Retweet, and Google+ below before leaving please.]

Here's audio of a stoned Boomer Esiason broadcasting MNF

Slow to notice, the internets heard the story Boomer Esiason has been telling for 6+ years last week: He once got high during a 2000 Monday Night Football broadcast with Matt Millen. "Now here's the deal. What you're saying, for some listeners or some viewers now that are listening to us for the first time, what you're saying is accurate. I did get high. I did. I didn't realize I was getting high when I got high, but I got high and I have to tell you that it was one of the best broadcasts I've ever had."

Here's that broadcast.

Today, stoned or not, Esiason noted 'two hard [garbage] men doing it.'

Sid Rosenberg outted Rich Ackerman as Bob Raissman's old WFAN 'embedded mole'

Sid Rosenberg outted Rich Ackerman as Bob Raissman's source at WFAN. "He's given more info to Raissman than [Edward] Snowden has given to the Russians." Not a good mark to have.

Ackerman used to come to the Blitz for dates.
