Tech grads needed, University of Florida drops Computer Science Department

How often do you hear that America is behind this country or that one when it comes to students and technology? Makes what the University of Florida did to save $1.7 million dollars all the more baffling:

[UF] announced this past week that it was dropping its computer science department, which will allow it to save about $1.7 million. The school is eliminating all funding for teaching assistants in computer science, cutting the graduate and research programs entirely, and moving the tattered remnants into other departments.

So, how'd the Athletic Department make out in the latest budget? It is at $99 million. A $2 million dollar increase over last year...

Students have put up a SAVE UF CISE website. They really need coding instruction. Won't you help them, Tim Tebow?
